Stone Fireplace
The fireplace really is the heart of the cabin. Its inviting warmth, mesmerizing light, and cheerful crackling draws people near. Its coziness makes them linger.
When I was designing Cabin Christmas, I pictured a stone fireplace at the center of the cabin. I then wondered how in the world I was going to depict it.
One day, I came across some buttons flipped face down. As I looked at them, I was taken with the fact that the backs of buttons are rounded and smooth, much like stones and perfect for my stone fireplace. To mimic nature, I chose gray but in varying sizes and shades.
It is now time to reveal the new Cabin Christmas layer in its surroundings. Drum roll, please. The heart of the cabin is the fireplace!
In addition to the stone face, there will also be a fireplace insert, wooden mantel, and marble hearth. Soon, I will reveal a new layer, so be sure to check back often.
